CJ J Feb 15 As a viewer, I long ago realized that slasher films need to up the ante to avoid what has become fairly predictable cliches and tropes seem to permeate the genre. The creator of "Waltz", Joshua D. Maley clearly realized that. The set-up involves a woman who recently lost her gig, and after continual rejection from employers, decides to try doing something along the lines of OnlyFans - with predictably bad outcomes. Her only friend doesn’t think it’s a good idea either, but gives right in. And of COURSE it’s a very bad idea, and through a series of truly bad decisions, winds up in the clutches of a very talkative baddie…who has a scary masked persona…this is a cool looking villain. Where things go from there is very cat and mouse and very gory. Then the twist in who turns out to be the maniac … is it the victim, the protagonist… or BOTH?You’ll need to watch to discover the rest, as I’d hate to give any more away.
