No developpements of each characters history, everything is rushed. No moment left for tension. And obviously, predictable ending as from the beginning.
While it is lacking interesting characters and impactful moments, this film still mostly works. The concept is cool and the suspense of seeing how these people will choose their fates is interesting enough to make it worth checking out.
Terrible predictable ending. Writing and staging is sub par. The two main protagonist are the only saving grace of this film
The real horror lies in how poorly written and executed this movie is.
The whole game makes no sense, laking any motivation from it's 'gamemaster' and the participants are just incredibly bland.
That being said, the GORE!!!! ...is as good as non-existent, every essential/interesting action happens offscreen.
All in all just a absolute and utter dissapointment of a movie.
Always keeps u waiting for more
Forget slashing psychos and vengeful spirits, this is the definition of horror. Would You Rather is a gripping, immersive gore fest that stays with viewers long after the credits roll. Enhanced by incredible performances, this crazy terrifying plot messes with the minds of all who partake in the game both on and off screen.
While the situation is rather unlikely, this explores that when left with no choice but to select 1 of 2 options, how much self-risk, the sacrifice of others, and pain one can withstand. With building up of an actual background, this is a horror film that draws you into the story rather than being satisfied with casual observation.
I hated this movie and I typically really enjoy crappy netflix horror films. The acting is atrocious, the plot makes no sense, the twists are lame, and the 'would you rather' scenarios aren't even interesting. A few things I hated:
1) They don't explain the motivation for the rich guy or his weird family at any point through the movie
2)They don't explain how this family would have been getting away with these murders/games for years as they imply. They let people go so how the hell would they not be caught?
3) Sasha Greys character was idiotic and she drowned within like 10 seconds. I have to believe a porn star is used to holding her breathe for longer than that.
4)There don't show any of the violence throughout the movie so its basically just a super watered down boring version of saw.
Would you rather waste your time on a predictable movie or watch a decent movie?
An interesting premise marred by a wretched, gushing excess of violence and shabby writing. Little time is spent exploring the stories of it's cast for the sake of adding in more cringe-worthy horror segments. Ironically, this makes the shock value fade quickly as progressively more horrid things happen to people you have no real reason to care for.
