The natives did not feel credible to me is one false note, but all the main actors are magnificent...Characters grow on you big time. Incredible series. Action and hardship on the long road to their dream future! However, the story devolves into a focus on the multiple love interests of the 18 year old daughter who also magically transforms from a ditzy city girl to the most powerful warrior of the group with the narrating ability of Morgan Freeman… OK. Took a badass potential show and turned it into a Western Soap Opera. See more Jodie T @RT49749502 03/17/2025 At times, this is indeed engaging, showing the difficulties of frontiering. But there’s too much Hollywood glamour. The women’s hair always looks shampooed and conditioned every day, too often there’s not enough suffering and exhaustion in the portrayals, the daughter get shot by an arrow and wounds seared and acts like it doesn’t hurt at all for days (and all with the perfect hair that never gets greasy or dirty). It’s absurd! Insulting to the intellect. But the worst part is the narration by the daughter who is obviously a California actress who can’t even begin to muster a southern accent. The fake accent is torture, lol. That is, in fact, the worst part of the whole thing, besides the over glamorization. Keep in mind it’s a silly Hollywood drama, and you might enjoy the ride.
