Critic Reviews for Rubber Man
"Rubber Man" is proof that a good preview can sometimes ruin an episode, not that American Horror Story needs much help in that department.
I gotta be honest, here, guys. I wasn't wild about this episode. It posed more questions that it answered.
Another week, another mystery revealed. This time we learn just who it is behind the rubber mask of that murderous S&M freak plaguing the inhabitants of the Murder House.
In the aftermath, Ben put Vivien in a mental hospital for evaluation. It spoke to Vivien's lingering sanity that she didn't fight him on it, because she couldn't disagree.
Sadly, kind of dull (how much more predictable could that Rubber Man reveal have been?)
It seems like every week they have a new goal with the Harmon family; drive Ben nuts, torment Violet, and now, drive Vivian nuts.
"Rubber Man" was a bit of a drag.
An American Horror Story episode that delivered on its promise to reveal the person under that black mask (hello, Tate!), while also making it clearer than ever just what those ghosts in the basement want:
So after plenty of new revelations, seductions and murder last week, American Horror Story is still an incredibly captivating show. As you can guess by the name, rubber man is a huge part of tonight's episode, which was another winner for the rookie show.
This episode saw a lot of puzzle pieces fall into place and with Hayden now set up as a main antagonist, with a devious plan, it seems as though the violent lunacy of the house might start actually making sense.
Vivien's crazy train is coming off the tracks as she accuses Ben of setting up the home invasion when he visited Hayden in Boston.
It's finally here. It's like Christmas for American Horror Show fanatics. We finally find out who the Rubber Man is this week.
