As Batman, Kevin Conroy always plays it straight, and, to choose just one standout from the rogues' gallery, Mark Hamill's maniacally mirthful Joker leaves even Jack Nicholson in the dust. Go to Full Review

Gorgeously designed, in a way that still defines the DC universe in animation, this is a must for any serious Bat-fan. Go to Full Review

It had a range of feeling and a visual sensitivity that will mark it not only as a striking interpretation of the super hero tradition but as one of the great animated series of all time. Go to Full Review

... Bruce Timm gave us a Batman in a film noir world out of the 1940s brought up to date, and the production painted the animation cels on black boards to emphasize the nocturnal, dark atmosphere. Go to Full Review

Terran F. @Neptoon Dec 3 The greatest animated show of the 90s. Easily the greatest super hero show of all time. See more Era K @RT01588294 Sep 20 Jack Landry is a Nickelodeon show that premiered from 1998 to 2001 and many people may not remember the show due to several reasons because if it's inconsistent airing time across regions and not being widely advertised or promoted as some of Nickelodeon's other programming at the time the show was seen as less prominent for their programming strategy that didn't make it seem popular or widely known as some other animated series the show is simply overshadowed by other cartoons and TV shows which have drew their attention away from less popular known animated series reviving a show with very poor ratings is clearly a risk which means that the show may not perform well in ratings if we're a full series and was intended for broad public awareness and was part of a lesser known era where Nickelodeon shows were gaining traction and Jack Landry may have fell out of the pipeline of growth and when the network was focusing on life oriented content and shows. See more Matthew P @RT21534199 Aug 24 This is one of the best series openers of any superhero television I've ever seen in my See more Silas W @RT04385124 Jul 27 Before Batman was dark (The Batman 2022), emotionally complex (The Dark Knight Trilogy), incredibly Swoll (Ben Affleck's Batman), or acted like he was a cartoon (Batman & Robin). He was dark, emotionally complex, incredibly Swoll, and WAS a literal cartoon. RIP Kevin Conroy, and the entire show is GREAT. After watching The Batman (2022), it was so NICE and just refreshing to go back to a fantastical Batman. Don't get me wrong I liked The Batman (2022), but I loved this show even more. It was just so refreshing to see him be fantastical again. He uses gadgets, fights with the Bat-Family, has suppressed trauma, struggles with living a double life, the police and Gotham as a whole are distrustful of him, he fights a GREAT selection of ACTUAL SUPERVILLAINS from his Rogues Gallery. the show all together is just SO GOOD. 11/10 definetely would recommend. See more matthias s @Thescreenasvor Jul 24 Finally diving into the DCAU and *Batman: The Animated Series* Season 1 seriously slaps. It’s dark, moody, stylish—basically Batman in his purest form. Ahead of its time and honestly better than most DC stuff from the last decade. The voice work? Iconic. The atmosphere? Chef’s kiss. You’ve got some all-time great episodes, but also a handful of forgettable filler that drags the score a bit. Still, it nails the tone and world of Gotham like nothing else. 74% feels fair—it’s not flawless, but it *is* essential. Now onto Season 2 and *Mask of the Phantasm*—bring on the Bat-goodness. See more Danuel W @DJWilliams Jul 22 Really portays Batman as a human against his vigilantes. It really gets you to understany why Batman is considered to be a superhero, as his will and abilities to be able to tackle theses foes really does make him superhuman. See more Read all reviews
