Season 3
Marvel's Daredevil

Critics Consensus

The Man with No Fear returns to top form with a third season that begins tediously slow but gradually generates comic book thrills, immeasurably helped by the welcome return of Vincent D'Onofrio's menacing Kingpin.

Critic Reviews for Marvel's Daredevil Season 3

All Critics (64) | Top Critics (7)

The show may never have the spark it did in its earliest days, but it did help elevate the way stories of superheroes can be told on television. There's still progress to be made, but "Daredevil" feels like it's on the right track.

What's clear is that [showrunner Erik] Oleson and his staff course-correct after an over-crowded second season, returning the focus to the people who live in this story.

There's a linear flow to it all that is focused and efficient. That doesn't mean the show couldn't lose steam like so many other promising yet still flawed Marvel series on Netflix. But so far, so good.

Puts the focus where it belongs: on Matt, Fisk, Foggy, and Karen, the core characters that we originally grew to love or hate back in Season 1.

Daredevil is a show that never fails to impress and always finds that balance between giving viewers the key ingredients they want, while adding just the right spice of mystery.

"Daredevil" creates a sense of realism partly through visceral, feel-every-rib-break action sequences.

An extraordinary season. [Full Review in Spanish]

When it comes to most well-written as well as the best-acted characters on-screen, those titles go to our hero and our villain, Matt Murdock, and Wilson Fisk.

This season is relentless from the get-go and absolutely does not disappoint as the Man Without Fear returns from the dead to bring down one of his most iconic villains.

Daredevil season 3 is a canny and intelligent return to this un-comic tale of crime, justice, and faith.

Feb 16, 2019 | Full Review…

Murdock, Fisk and Dex are all well served, acted brilliantly and form an extremely strong backbone to a season that still has other good things going for it. Recommended!

Daredevil's third season is both thought-provoking and entertaining, something Marvel/Netflix shows have struggled with for the last few years.

Amazing season with great twists and turns and action scenes. The plot is quite well written, especially Daredevil himself who often doesn't know what to do because he has lost his faith in God. The TV series often refers to such heavy topics as the existence of God or crimes that even count for life. The antagonist and the protagonist have great chemistry between them, so you can get so well involved in the plot. Chapeau bas Netflix!

this is the best season of a tv show ive ever seen

If I had one word to describe this season is: Perfect. It's just amazing, not a let down and exceeding expectations. It was suspenseful, and clearly a lot of care and hard work put into this show and all 3 seasons. Marvel needs to pick this show up again, with same cast, same producers, and same story. Marvel's biggest mistake is to cancel this show and leaving all of the genius of the show. #SaveDaredevil

Easily the best of all the Marvel comic book character adaptations. This show has it all. Terrific acting, fantastic writing, and wonderful cinematography. What is doesn't have is a 4th season, and that is something that simply defies logic.

Best season ever! After a 2.5 year wait from its predecessor, Charlie Cox makes a triumphant return as Daredevil full time taking loose inspiration from the Born Again, and Guardian Devil comics. Every time that series came around it felt so much more eventful than the traditional MCU films, and the other Marvel Netflix shows haven't even come close to the quality of this series. Vincent D'Nofrio makes a huge comeback as Kingpin, even Bullseye being integrated into the narrative with his own origin story. There wasn't as much action as the previous two seasons and the beginning is a little slow, but the story has so much build up, and there's just enough action to keep the momentum going. The prison hallway fight, which featured an 11 minute one shot was fantastic, outdoing the previous hallway fights. Every character gets their moments to shine, and the ending fight was epic, making all 13 episodes feel earned without any filler. Even with the cancellation, I'm happy this series on a great note, Cox received a proper send off, and I'm still holding out hope for a revival somehow. Great season, and by far the best in the series.

Bouncing back from an okay at best season 2, season 3 of Marvel's Daredevil once again recaptures what once was in season 1. Daredevil wanting to die after losing Elektra in the Defenders is a focal point near the beginning of the season and works well. Somehow, season 3 of Daredevil perfectly balances (once again) the dynamic with Wilson Fisk and Daredevil, as well as adding two new interesting characters in Agents Ray Nadeem and Ben Poindexter. This season is well worth your time if you enjoyed season 1.

With the return of King Pin and an impostor dirtying his name, Matt Murdock comes back in a third -and sadly- final season that increases the quality, demonstrating the superiority of the devil of hell's kitchen above all Defenders in the small screen.
  • Apr 14, 2020
I personally hate the fact that he gave up on his red suit, but that made room for a pretty cool plot-twist at the middle of the season. The best part about this is that Murdock goes on a self-discovering journey, which made this final act an intense storyline.

The actors are perfect for their roles. The casting goes deep into every character. As for the dialoges, they are well writen and there's a lot of food for thought. Entertaining interactions. Matt is the right example of a hero with not that special powers, but with intense sentimentalism. He uses mostly his mind and it becomes obvious as the episodes go by that he is not unbeatable, he is not that different from a common street fighter. And this is what makes the show so special, Matt is mostly human, miles away from a classic sci-fi hero. Everyone in the show develop and reveal the interesting nature of "Daredevil". (whole show)
