Critic Reviews for Marooned
I'm just so impressed by [Stein's] space ranger attitude! And the fact that he was able to pull a mission off on his own!
For a show like this to work, it needs a compelling villain, high stakes, an interesting mythology, and a fun cast. Unfortunately, this show is only halfway there.
But in putting the big mission aside and focusing on the characters and relationships, Legends delivers its best episode to date.
"Marooned" a surprisingly entertaining hour... The show's improving, but it needs to do less hand-waving in regards to the rules of its time travel.
This episode, minus the Rip Hunter flashback hiccup, was really good and another solid installment of the series, easily proving its one of the best superhero shows on TV today.
This whole installment was far from impressive.
There were parts of this episode that had some of the show's best moments to date, but Legends of Tomorrow has yet to land a truly great episode.
By embracing the show's inherent strengths and grounding the action in real, emotional stakes it seems like Legends has found its own unique, if somewhat goofy, voice.
All I know for sure is that there's a childlike sweetness to the show's approach, even when dealing with dire situations, and that's ultimately what's going to make this show last.
This week's episode is jam-packed with sass.
"Marooned" wasn't a total disappointment, but it was definitely the weakest episode of this show to date.
"Marooned" felt incredibly disposable beyond the Heat Wave plot.
