Joseph B @RT80559612 08/27/2023 a strange series, starts off with a gripping first episode, an arab couple with two children are persuaded to leave their apartment and given tickets to Australia. At the airport, the wife finds out that her husband has been given a lot of money by Israelis to leave so they can take over his home in East Jerusalem. The wife collapses at the airport and is hospitalized, and the man and his children don't know where to turn. But from there that story is not followed up immediately, but we are introduced to two or three other stories. First, the Israeli wheeler-dealer is struggling to bring up an autistic daughter who is almost 18 and can be taken into the army in a special programme for children with disabilities, he wants to be free of her, yet also is over-protective. Then, the Israeli wheeler-dealer wants to buy out a large property held by the Greek Orthodox church in Jerusalem, and he has obtained the help of a young priest, bribing him, which the young priest wants because he wants to go off somewhere with a married woman he desires. But the head of the church is a stubborn man, a strong character, and he does not want to sell, the Israeli tries to pressure him in rather nasty ways. And meanwhile, we return to the young Arab couple, the man is aware that he is now wanted as a traitor, his wife wants to look after her children. as I have come to find out, the ending of Israeli movies and series is often to leave us hanging, and that is the case here. The acting is good, the characters portrayed well, much of the interaction with the autistic daughter may be realistic, but it is tiresome. There is no sex, and after the first episode relatively little drama - although the whole thing is drama. It is more character study than true drama. See more Read all reviews
