Ten seasons in and The Great British Baking Show still manages to entertain well-enough, but its style-over-substance production is a bit like the TV equivalent soggy-bottom.
It is a perfect moment, their feelings and desire hovering in the air between them alongside the betrayals... There has been a reckoning, indeed, and there is, we hope, more reckoning to come.
And let's call the closing moments of last night's episode, when Brody was hustled out of the Ashford Hotel with a hood over his head after being thoroughly scolded by Carrie, an "ahahahahahahaha moment."
This is, by far, the silliest plot thread the show has introduced, and that's even after last week's wacky and implausible adventure through the woods with The Tailor.
