Every week, a cooking challenger chooses one Iron Chef, a chef with expertise in a single cooking style, from the series' stable to face off against in a frenetic culinary battle featuring a secret theme ingredient chosen by the flamboyant host, known as Chairman Kaga. A panel of guest judges tastes the dishes to determine if the challenger has bested the Iron Chef.
