In the seventh series of this crime drama, Stabler (Christopher Meloni) tries to adjust to being separated from his wife, as well as deal with a difficult situation with his old partner (Noah Emmerich), so he seeks counseling from Dr. Rebecca Hendrix (Mary Stuart Masterson), a psychiatrist and ex-cop whom he befriended the previous series. Recurring character Dana Lewis (Marcia Gay Harden) makes her first appearance this series as an undercover FBI agent who initially butts heads with Stabler. Other guests stars include Robert Patrick as an ex-con and Chris "Ludacris" Bridges as a young man with a criminal record who clashes with Fin (Ice-T).
