Louisa May Alcott's semi-autobiographical coming-of-age drama centers on four very different sisters as they embark on the journey from childhood to adulthood during the American Civil War. With the help of their mother, Marmee, Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy March navigate what it means to be a young woman, experiencing everything from sibling rivalry and first love to loss and marriage. Set in Concord, Mass., the three-episode series is scripted by Heidi Thomas and directed by Vanessa Caswill.

If this version of Little Women proves anything it is that chucking decent actors, some famous names, a classic novel and a substantial sum of licence-payers' cash at a project is not enough to make it succeed, on any level except the cinematography. Terri M @Nightsong Feb 1 It was just awful. Not faithful to the book. So poorly written. Events happening in random order from the original story in a way that detracted from the story arc.
