This action series, based on the 1976 film of the same name, features a totalitarian future (23rd-century) society in which no one is permitted to live beyond age 30. Logan, a 26-year-old police assassin (known as a Sandman) begins to question the lethal bureaucracy under which he lives and works, eventually going on the run in search of Sanctuary, an idyllic and possibly mythical place where people can live in peace. Logan is pursued by a former friend (and fellow Sandman), who attempts to terminate him.
