It doesn't disappoint.

After setting up chess pieces all season long, this episode finally brought together the season's two disparate strands: Ghost Rider's hellish vengeance spree and AIDA's toying with artificial life.

Well that's it, season 4 is over and, for me, without a doubt ends the strongest season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to date. And with the recent confirmation of a fifth season the thoughts of where this show will be taken is extremely exhilarating.

Overall, it's a really solid premiere episode of Agents of SHIELD in its new time slot. "The Ghost" lets a lot of new story arcs begin and shows off the new darker, harder side of the show.

Despite a few missteps along the way, they were minor compared to everything else that was going on.

May 22, 2019 | Rating: 8.5/10 | Full Review…

Possibly the best overall season of AoS, while it doesn't quite reach the heights of the final few episodes of Season 1, the actual storytelling over the three arcs is great.

Agents of SHIELD had plenty of comic material to draw upon, but focusing on Hydra allowed it to stay grounded and realistic.

The series often turns on a dime, but the viewer never feels whiplash. An impressive accomplishment given the multitude of times this show could have easily veered off the rails.

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. opened Season 4 with the introduction of a well-publicized new threat - the hot-headed, vengeance-seeking Ghost Rider - but closed its premiere with a second, equally ominous twist.

Audience Reviews for Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Season 4

Ok this one got a bit weird
  • Aug 07, 2020
One of the greatest seasons of any television show. Having two story arcs, one that ended at mid season and another for the remainder then connecting them together was a work of a master.
  • Jul 24, 2020
It took a turn for the worst, Ghost Rider was handled boringly and the 2nd half computer world episodes were lame.
  • Jun 22, 2020
My favorite season so far. Multi-layed story with so much depth, it starts at one point and then takes you on a journey to places you'll never expect!

This was a nearly perfect season. I did not realized how invested I was in the characters until I watched this season, which puts them through a blender every step of the way. There were times I was wondering if the agents would even get out alive. Absolutely fantastic. Watch. This. Show.

It was good I like to hide your stuff which is Hydra but I am also ghost rider and it was a good ending Didn't really like the bad guy but

The season is weaker than the last, but still a good season. It shows two very good plots, that definitely put the characters to their limits.

Agents of SHIELDS - I noticed in some TV series where the whole season's story is divided into half which is a wise approach because the viewers dont get tired of catching up. But in SEASON 4, its divided into 3 part:1/3 focused on the story the dangerous book DARKLORD and a reboot of well-known character, GHOST RIDER( which just found out that its a MARVEL CHARACTER, not just a fictional character portrayed by Nicholas Cage); 2/3. The chasing game with scientist, Holden Radcliff and AIDA, an intelligent robot who got steroids courtesy of the forbidden book; 3/3 the their crazy adventure to the FRAMEWORK, its another dimension made by AIDA that can transfer the consciousness into a new world. And in this other side of the world, HYDRA is ruling the world and SHIELDS are the rebels. I love that they did thia switch up story because sometimes, I tend to get tired to follow and finish a series from big TV networks because they got more episodes than from original series from streaming services. But this series has all of the elements that I want to make me hook. Since its a Marvel series, its connected to the Marvel Cinematic Universe by making an Ultron reference thru AIDA. Because of what happened in the Avengers: Age Of Ultron, making another A.I robot is prohibited but Holden Radcliff, managed to discreetly make AIDA which becomes a strong ANTAGONIST in this series. I dont want to spoil alot for those who haven't watch yet, hihihihi ( or probably I'm the last person in the world. to watch this, hahahaha). The only part that keeps me thinking: what happened to Vijay Nadeer after his sister dropped him to the ocean? It was not revealed in this season so probably its going to unravel in S5. But I just dont like that his story was left unclear after he transformed into a cocoon which what exactly happened in Daisy Johnson before she become an Inhuman as Quake. Overall, Season 4 is a great one and it keeps getting better every season. I really hope that it wont end up for cancellation like what happened to the Netflix X Marvel original series and just keeps doing it and get even better.
