Critic Reviews for Preacher Season 3
All Critics (13) | Top Critics (2) | Fresh (12) | Rotten (1)
A convoluted mixture of soul splitting, corpse reviving, and blood guzzling mixed with a heavy theological aftertaste, "Preacher" is a cocktail and it goes down smooth, but has gradually lost its bite.
Uninhibited, gory, genuinely creepy and ridiculously good fun.
Phew! Preacher definitely delivered us an action-packed Season 3
Easily the best season of Preacher yet - and that says a lot!
Put it this way: if Preacher's fourth season turns out to be its last, it's all set up to be an enormous blowout of a conclusion.
Preacher is finally venturing into one of the best and most unsettling pieces of the comic, and so far the new season seems to be headed in the right direction.
Betty Buckley... is... everything.
But what's really special about Preacher is that it suggests that horror and comedy aren't different elements to combine, they're part of a single whole. The thing that makes you laugh is also the thing that haunts your dreams.
Shifting gears to these characters' fractured and confused interpersonal relationships likely won't be the norm for the season's entire run, but it nevertheless makes for a compelling start to season 3.
Preacher finally feels as if it's found a balance.
I'm certainly having fun watching Preacher. Some aspects of it I really like. Joe Gilgun's Cassidy, in particular, is wonderfully compelling. I'll watch him do anything. But I wish it could get a handle on its pacing.
If you want to watch some really weird events and characters slapped haphazardly across the screen, feel free to give this new season a watch. Otherwise, I think that you can safely skip Preacher's third season.

-
Feb 01, 2020Same great quality as season 2, with a few more standout moments that make me like it even more than season 2.
-
Aug 05, 2019Preacher season 3 finally living up to the bonkers potential of the comics. A blast.

-
Apr 25, 2019And it got even greater!!!
-
Nov 02, 2018Preacher found its best season when they did the one thing they had to: Be more comic accurate
-
Oct 07, 2018Despite more focus and better pacing Preacher is beginning to grow tiresome in its third season, dont think Ill be watching season 4.
-
Oct 04, 2018The third season of Preacher recovers from the stumble that was season two and gets back to what makes Preacher so fun to watch: out-of-the-box storytelling, plenty of humor, and lots and lots of blood. It does hit a bit of a snag about half way through the season that slows it down for a couple of episodes, but then it picks it up again and heads towards a conclusion that has got me excited for season four.
