They definitely glamorize western culture while simultaneously degrading Afghan culture and Islam. In an episode one of the sisters is angry that the other CHOOSES to cover up and rants about how oppressive it is to want to cover up. In another one sister is saying that someone who fought in Afghanistan can relate to the culture/what she's feeling which is quite literally INSANE. It just feels like they really missed the mark. They also kept mentioning how dangerous Afghanistan was when their mom was going to Pakistan, an entirely different country!! The show was meant to be about all the sisters and their bond but really just felt like a pedestal for western culture and demonizing anything conservative. It's a very niche representation and it's upsetting that it's being advertised as mass representation instead. I have never in my life seen any Afghans kiss on the lips, everything's just so wild in all the wrong ways.
