The smashed egg notwithstanding, this is grown-up, educational content which, hallelujah, doesn’t address us like we have a reading age of five. Go to Full Review

I loved this show, just as I loved the previous show, although I do wonder if Cox’s heart is still in it. Go to Full Review

It’s all beautifully shot, and Cox is good at explaining the science in layman’s terms without treating the audience like idiots. But you’re left with the impression that BBC executives get together once a year to say: We need to hit the science quota... Go to Full Review

tom r 11/08/2024 "It is all b eautifully shot!"says another reviewer. Who cares?! Was this an excuse for Brian Cox to enjoy visiting exotic locations only to make amateurish demonstrations of some point or other, that would have better made in a studio with better props, or more informative. Too much irrelevant CGI obviously added to give drama, but incidentally giving false impressions of scale (Planets too big, distances too small). Ten minutes of content stretched out to an hour. By the way ... when rocks crash together in space ther is no sound, as ther is no air to carry the vibration, so why did some numpty add crashing sound effects? If the intention was to educate with accurate information this is a fail. If it was merely intended to entertain ... then tagain it is a fail. Whatever happened to the wonderful Science programs, with lots of content, that the BBC used to produce 40 or 50 years ago? See more Read all reviews
