When four pet turtles were bathed in ooze, they began to mutate and became the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Raised in New York City sewers by their foster father and martial-arts Master Splinter, Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael wage war against crime. They stop evildoers in all forms, whether barbaric gangs, lowlife crooks, deranged cyborgs, or even the crime syndicate The Foot, led by their archrival, The Shredder.

The animation makes the show less irritating than the live-action films, but only barely. Go to Full Review

Alex Y @RT68132590 04/12/2025 Show is awesome! Worth watching if you grew up with the comics. See more Tyler L @Tyler131 03/11/2025 Great start to a show, I love how it’s inspired by the original comics. See more Todd B @RT74159835 01/22/2025 A reinvention of the turtles to be more serious, true to the og comic book series. See more Tornado P @RT96940215 01/16/2023 Both plot and animation are incredible! The best ever incarnation of the turtles, I doubt that any other future version will ever surpass it. See more 03/05/2022 When I tell you this show is the best out of the franchise, trust me it is! The characters are flushed out amazingly, Every episode sooner or later lead up to another, The turtles in this show are relatable and they actually act like brothers. You see the team go through struggles especially Leo. Shredder in this series is so cruel and Menacing and I live for it! In conclusion, this series is amazing and so is this season specifically. Although this isn't my favorite season it sure is amazing! See more 08/13/2021 NOTE: This is the exception, not the norm to how I usually review TV shows. Some shows at least have a Tomatometer to provide a vague justification for why I went against my rule to review it. I have no intention of making this a normal thing. In the case of why I decided to review this one? I dunno, must be my fondness of superheroes, even if they don't fully fit traditional terms. REVIEW: You know, this page has a serious identity crisis. The link and poster are for the 2003 cartoon, which I've never seen, but the episode list clearly has the 2012 show on the brain. And I'm reviewing the latter in this case so...may another change in interface not cause serious confusion about why people are talking about two different adaptations. Anyway, as a casual fan of the Ninja Turtles, this first season was an absolute blast. They deftly balanced "villain-of-the-week" episodes with ones that continue the story arc, the characters are brimming with personality and depth, the humour is spot-on and the action sequences are incredibly exciting, helped tremendously by the art style, resulting in one darn great-looking CGI TV show. My only complaints are generally nitpicky stuff such as some of the quirks of the four brothers getting on my nerves from time to time. But I overall had fun with Nickelodeon's first adaptation of one of the most popular comic books of all time that is neither Marvel nor DC and did a good job keeping me sated while I was getting hyped up for the then-upcoming 2014 reboot movie.
