Critic Reviews for The New Rogues
It's emotional without being dour, fun without sacrificing character development, all while pushing the story in bold new directions.
I can't say it enough: It felt so good to have Wentworth Miller on The Flash again. I hope the show finds another clever way to bring him back.
It's the most giddily entertaining hour of the series in ages: light on its feet and overflowing with humor, adventure, and Silver Age goofiness.
Sure, the season is still young, but I'm willing to bet "The New Rogues" stays a highlight for this year.
The extremely awkward love triangle adventures that include a father, his daughter, and adopted son. Yup. S*** gets weird in New Rogues.
The costume designs were a nice touch, even if I wanted to reach into the TV and scream at Scudder to put some damned socks on.
It will always be a little odd that The Flash chose to introduce Barry to the woman he was destined to fall in love with, by having her be his "adoptive" sister.
This is a fun little direction to go, but c'mon, would they really just welcome a stranger from another world onto the team in the span of a few hours?
That said, do we really need Earth-19 Wells? It's a bit much.
Season 3 has returned to us a likable hero in Barry Allen, and that's made all the difference only four episodes into the season.
