If you're after some of that trusted monkey magic, you aren't going to find a cloud with a silver lining with this repetitive storyline.

This is definitely a love/hate series and the second instalment just passes the mark.

I like it, It reminds me of Hercules, Xena: Warrior Princes and Young Hercules from the 90s. Gives you a nice balance of fun campy with a good story and decent action

It is sad that I am only giving it 3 starts as I really liked the first season. Sadly the villains were lack luster. Most of the demons you get stuck with this season feel like they tried out for Mortal Combat ll and some how got rechecked. The main villain plot cold have been amazing, even if it was a little predictable. However, leaving a character in that should have died in two episodes for a badly written plot to bring down the villain; when they a had a better character they kill off in such a way you question how they made it to adulthood made it hard to watch. The one they kill in a stupid way they, could have made them act stupidly annoying and that would have been a better plot twist for the villains failure and would have justified the character existing in the first place. The "demon" you want to see more of and would have worked better for the start of season 3 they kill in three episodes. Honestly, the "demon" they kill in three episodes, Mycelia, and the return of a character are the only saving grace and the only reason it gets 3 stars.

Fun! Can't ask for more from a summer binge.

I do think that in comparison to season 1, season 2 does have some improvements. Acting, cinematography, and action scenes have gotten better. The writing is not 100% there and could definitely use improvement. Regardless, I finished the season and I'm not disappointed. Still cheesy, campy, and entertaining. I'm happy to see the same as well as new actors having fun with series. ~SPOILER PAST THIS POINT~ On top of this I think the villains, especially Hackfish and even Monkey's doppelgänger, are more convincing by comparison to last seasons. In summation, I hope there is a season 3! I want to see how the series and actors grow and where the story goes from here.

I kind of liked the first season and was happy to see a second season come around. My joy slowly faded over each episode. I found myself rolling my eyes constantly as I watched narratives play out that seemed completely off the wall. When I first saw this show I had high hopes for this Journey to the West clone, but If hope they don't continue this show. While the action scenes were pretty good, they are way too far away from the source material. The corniness is almost juvenile as well. Like the moth demon being addicted to lighting like fire....not kidding. I would skip this season.

    Erm, what happened with S2?

Unlike season two of the Umbrella Academy, the second season of this funny, escapist, eccentric show improves on season one. The writing is smarter than it needs to be, with characters and relationships that deepen and develop in ways both expected and unexpected. This is a show that remembers its past, and uses the world building that's already been done in Season one to move the story forward in new and very entertaining directions. It has moments of surprising depth. I'm going to call "New Legends of Monkey" The little show that could. It made me laugh out loud several times, which in the year 2020 is really saying something.

A pathetic joke created by the directors, an action series disgraced with a bad screenplay. This really is a joke and seems like a bad comedy where the monkey even cant beat a kid. Feel like throwing rotten tomato on the person who made this crap.
