MTV describes "Wait Till Next Year" as a "docu-dramedy -- in the vein of `Bad News Bears' meets `Friday Night Lights.' " The series follows one season on and off the field of the Lincoln Park Railsplitters, a Michigan high-school football team that hasn't won a game in five seasons -- a total of 43 straight losses that is five defeats away from setting a new state record. Viewers become acquainted with the players, cheerleaders, parents and fans who are striving to accomplish one collective goal: win a game. In addition, typical growing pains associated with high-school life are woven into story lines, among them dating, cliques, body image issues, and family drama.
