Gloria Steinem has spent much of her adult life serving as an advocate for women's rights. In this series, she turns to the issue of violence against women. Female journalists take a look at ways that females are victims of violence around the world. Issues that are examined include sexual violence in the Democratic Republic of Congo, unacknowledged missing women in Canada and femicide in El Salvador. The show gives viewers ideas about how they can help stop gender violence, which Steinem says "has become so great that for the first time, there are now fewer females on Earth than males."
