A blast from the past with eyes laser-focused on the franchise’s future, X-Men ‘97 is as sharp, shiny, and frankly frickin’ cool as Wolvie’s adamantium claws. Snikt! Go to Full Review

Somehow “X-Men ’97” also manages to be a time anomaly, in the best way — both an artifact of the ’90s and a show for this moment, the perfect synthesis of then and now. Go to Full Review

Everything about ’97 reflects an affection and thoughtfulness, not just for the Saturday morning cartoon but for the X-Men, too. Go to Full Review

The show’s animation is just gorgeous. The colours, the movement, the details–they added to the immersive experience of the story. The characterizations were stellar–characters who hadn’t been given their due came alive here. Go to Full Review

Marc T @LAUGHWITHMARC Jan 17 I don't think this show is bad, but it's a bad sequel series. Which is what I rate it on. It feels more like the "creator" Beau DeMayo's fanfic for X-Men: The Animated Series then how that show was. This would have been better as just a stand alone series then chaining it to X-Men: The Animated Series, which it in no way feels like. See more Pietro L @Sojaz Dec 18 If you have watched the 90s show, this is not for you. The revival seems more to a different show, character arcs already made on the original are totally forgotten on the new one. Rogue had fought so much to embrace her abilties, to see that's not just a curse, and understanding that she don't need touch someone to be fulfilled, ALL THIS was forgot, they added that she already touched someone, something she always said that she wanted and never did, destroying her whole character arc from the previous show. Have a bad script, they tried make something similar to the 1st season of the classic show, bringing one story at all, but also made a random episode of Jubilee and Sunspot in a video game, that after watching the show, IT DOESN'T BRING NOTHING TO THE STORY. The new art style is bad, removed some details that was part of the characters, even in the flashbacks it was removed. The voices sound pretty bad in the show, Rogue's voice actor not bring all potential as shown in Rivals See more Fifty T Nov 17 A New Benchmark for Marvel: What a ride! X-Men '97 isn't just a sequel; it's a high-stakes elevation of the original series. The art and animation are consistently fantastic, supporting a season that masterfully tackles grief, political trauma, and the complex nature of Xavier's dream. It perfectly adapted legendary comic arcs like the Genosha Massacre and the epic Operation: Zero Tolerance finale. While the early episodes had some necessary setup, the back half was a relentless, emotional masterpiece, culminating in a near-perfect conclusion. It fearlessly challenges the X-Men's core ideology, making the eventual triumph feel hard-won and deeply cathartic. This season absolutely deserves its high score and sets a breathtaking standard for superhero television. See more Stephen C @bob25009 Nov 2 10 successful animated episodes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
