Imus became a household name through his long-running show "Imus in the Morning," which began airing in 1971 and became nationally syndicated in 1993. Over the decades, he interviewed major political figures and celebrities, while also generating headlines for provocative remarks. Imus transitioned to television with simulcasts of his radio show on MSNBC (1996-2007) and later on Fox Business Network (2009-2015). He also published books. Imus appeared in various TV shows and documentaries, including "Barbara Walters Presents The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2007" (ABC, 2007). Known for his influential interviews and commentary, he was inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame in 1989. He retired from broadcasting in 2018 and passed away in 2019, at the age of 79.
