  • Singer and actress Peg LaCentra was well-known during the late '30s as a radio performer and a singer with Artie Shaw's band. She translated her popularity into a sporadic film career that stretched from the mid-'40s through 1960. In 1939, she hosted her own radio series "The Peg La Centra Show" and made her film debut in Cowboy Blues (1946). In 1957, she had a leading role on the television sitcom The Marge and Gower Champion Show.
