Thad Mumford

Thad Mumford has served as writer and producer for a number of popular television series. His earliest credits include writing the children's show "The Electric Company," which led to such series as "Good Times," "Maude," and "What's Happening!!" during the '70s. The latter part of the decade and the early '80s included two high-profile projects to go with a slew of television work. Mumford served as a writer on "Roots: The Next Generations," a mini-series that adapted the book by Alex Haley, and the television series "M.A.S.H.," for which he was nominated for Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series each year from 1981 to 1983. His credits on the long-running show included its final episode, which he also produced. During the '80s and '90s, Mumford wrote mostly for such sitcoms as "ALF," "A Different World," "Home Improvement," and "Coach." He also served as supervising producer on "ALF" and "A Different World."
