Aaron is a movie fanatic and loves writing and talking about such things, a lot. Born and raised in Orange County, California, he earned a degree or two at UC Santa Barbara. Aaron describes himself as a film reviewer, writer, podcaster, gamer, comic reader, disc golfer, and a lefty. He fell in love with movies at a young age and has continued viewing, studying, and analyzing all aspects of the medium ever since. His mind is full of film knowledge and random trivia, but he is always open to learning more, whether it's through box office stats, reviewing Blu-rays from The Criterion Collection or simply hearing first hand from filmmakers and others about various productions and behind-the-scenes tidbits.

Good Burger 2 (2023) |
The script is a bit sharper than the first, as there are some ideas on its mind concerning automation and employment conditions. It doesn’t delve too deeply into these things, but it at least fills the 90-minute runtime with some worthwhile toppings. - We Live Entertainment

Domingo can be such a compelling force to watch on screen that it’s a shame to see him leading such a by-the-numbers biopic about a notable figure from the civil rights movement. - We Live Entertainment

Maestro (2023) |
Here’s a film that made me question what Cooper was trying to say about this man and his life. I say that in a good way, as it feels like a challenge laid before me that will be a benefit when reflecting on this film over time. - We Live Entertainment

Eileen (2023) |
Does the film manage to pay it all off accordingly? Not entirely. As a low-budget psychodrama, however, it taps into enough to engross. - We Live Entertainment

Five Nights at Freddy's (2023) |
An early sequence where we watch these mascots come to life and dispatch a group of people shows promise for something better (and the animatronics do look pretty solid), but it’s all for naught. This is about as good as cardboard pizza. - We Live Entertainment

The Marsh King's Daughter (2023) |
Ridley feels challenged in the right ways, while Mendelsohn channels another scummy character to strong effect. The stakes are just high enough to have kept me involved, and that’s fine for a decent paperback come-to-life situation. - We Live Entertainment

It’s not at all laugh-free, as a lot of goofy gags land, so it’s worth checking out in the realm of random comedy streaming releases, but the price just wasn’t always right for me. - We Live Entertainment

Thanksgiving (2023) |
Perhaps it’s how unlikable I found most of the characters or just the tone of the evening, but while effectively moody and gory, it ultimately didn’t play for me as well as films like Terror Train or My Bloody Valentine. - We Live Entertainment
