28 Years Later: The Bone Temple (2026) 93% 4/5 EDIT “With a uniformly impressive cast, spectacular scenes of carnage and the unshakeable feeling that anything could happen, this zombie franchise is as thrilling as it’s ever been.” – NME (New Musical Express) Jan 15, 2026 Full Review The Surfer (2024) 84% EDIT “Finnegan’s film is a more visually arresting one than Frank Perry’s, occasionally bordering on the psychedelic, but as strong portrayals of a lonely man pushed over the edge by his demons, the two are of a piece.” – Sight & Sound Dec 31, 2025 Full Review A Big Bold Beautiful Journey (2025) 36% 2/5 EDIT “Though occasionally inventive and affecting, A Big Bold Beautiful Journey is a tonal mess. Romantic and other emotional struggles depicted may ring true, but that and strong lead performances can’t save the uneven whole.” – Empire Magazine Sep 18, 2025 Full Review One Battle After Another (2025) 94% 5/5 EDIT “From start to finish, One Battle After Another is a mighty 162 minutes of danger, comedy, excitement, love, sex and confusion.” – Time Out Sep 17, 2025 Full Review Echo Valley (2025) 52% 3/5 EDIT “An intelligent, sapphic-tinged and superbly acted rural thriller with Moore, Sweeney, Gleeson and Shaw all on fine form, only slightly dampened by some blatant product placement.” – Empire Magazine Jun 17, 2025 Full Review Die My Love (2025) 74% 4/5 EDIT “An excellent film that will probably be in the running for big prizes come awards season” – NME (New Musical Express) Jun 5, 2025 Full Review Case 137 (2025) 92% 4/5 EDIT “Much like the case itself, a crime drama performed and crafted with this level of care and social resonance is well worth investigating.” – Time Out May 16, 2025 Full Review Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning (2025) 80% 4/5 EDIT “The stunt-work harks back to the silent era in terms of spectacle – albeit far grander and more dangerous” – NME (New Musical Express) May 15, 2025 Full Review The Friend (2024) 84% 3/5 EDIT “Naomi Watts’ exceptional performance is the crucial element of this moving if flawed tale. The film to see if you’ve ever wondered how to tackle grief with a ginormous dog in the Big Apple.” – Empire Magazine Apr 29, 2025 Full Review Mickey 17 (2025) 78% 4/5 EDIT “Mickey 17 may lack some of the political bite of his previous work, but it’s unquestionably tremendous fun: a big, strange spectacle that’s unlike most blockbuster cinema out there.” – Time Out Feb 15, 2025 Full Review Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023) 71% 4/5 EDIT “It’s Harrison Ford’s final crack at playing Indiana Jones – and his fifth time out as the great adventuring archaeologist is much more than a fond farewell” – NME (New Musical Express) Feb 10, 2025 Full Review Nosferatu (2024) 85% 3/5 EDIT “Essential viewing for fans of gothic horror but must be recommended with caution for everyone else” – NME (New Musical Express) Dec 6, 2024 Full Review Heretic (2024) 90% 4/5 EDIT “Hugh Grant is never less than devilishly plausible and meticulous with every glance, grin and furrowed brow” – NME (New Musical Express) Nov 1, 2024 Full Review Venom: The Last Dance (2024) 40% 3/5 EDIT “It’s not big or clever but it is enjoyable” – NME (New Musical Express) Oct 25, 2024 Full Review Wolfs (2024) 66% 3/5 EDIT “Sometimes a cosy night in watching an easy film is the best remedy for dealing with the world’s woes, as it is in this case” – NME (New Musical Express) Sep 26, 2024 Full Review blur: To the End (2024) 90% 4/5 EDIT “Out front and backstage, this illuminating but not quite revelatory documentary shows a vulnerable, exhausted Blur and the band at their best. Interesting to casual fans, essential for devotees.” – Empire Magazine Jul 17, 2024 Full Review MaXXXine (2024) 73% 4/5 EDIT “With a rollicking soundtrack full of ’80s faves like Frankie Goes to Hollywood and ZZ Top, bold, fluorescent sets and Hollywood locations and outsized performances, Maxxxine wraps up West’s trilogy in killer style.” – Time Out Jul 11, 2024 Full Review Kinds of Kindness (2024) 71% 4/5 EDIT “Another humane, odd and highly accomplished Yorgos Lanthimos film, one that sees him returning to the tone of his earlier work after The Favourite and Poor Things. ” – Empire Magazine Jun 25, 2024 Full Review Megalopolis (2024) 46% 2/5 EDIT “The whole piece is so uneven, that at times it’s akin to watching a toddler being given free rein as an interior decorator” – NME (New Musical Express) May 20, 2024 Full Review Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (2024) 90% 5/5 EDIT “An extraordinary blockbuster juggernaut that in some sequences somehow excels even its predecessor” – NME (New Musical Express) May 16, 2024 Full Review Love Lies Bleeding (2024) 94% 4/5 EDIT “Love Lies Bleeding will draw comparisons to the Coen Brothers’ superb 1984 debut, Blood Simple. It has a similar blend of shocks, fascinating characters and hard-bitten dialogue, though visually it’s bolder and brighter” – NME (New Musical Express) Feb 22, 2024 Full Review Small Things Like These (2024) 93% 4/5 EDIT “Murphy again leads with aplomb and his casting alone will likely bring a bigger audience to this intelligent adaptation of Claire Keegan’s novel of the same name” – NME (New Musical Express) Feb 16, 2024 Full Review The Kitchen (2023) 89% 3/5 EDIT “Not as revolutionary as Children Of Men, nor as wild as Attack The Block, The Kitchen is still solid British sci-fi with a social-realist flavour. An auspicious directorial debut from Tavares and Kaluuya.” – Empire Magazine Jan 16, 2024 Full Review Napoleon (2023) 58% 4/5 EDIT “The details of historical truth be damned: this mighty adventure should be seen on the biggest screen possible. Charge on horseback to the multiplex to savour it.” – NME (New Musical Express) Nov 23, 2023 Full Review The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes (2023) 64% 4/5 EDIT “It looks like no Katniss is no problem for Songbirds And Snakes. A fine blockbuster adventure for autumn” – NME (New Musical Express) Nov 17, 2023 Full Review
