Though London awaits the joyful arrival of Christmas, miserly Ebenezer Scrooge (Jim Carrey) thinks it's all humbug, berating his faithful clerk and cheerful nephew for their view. Later, Scrooge encounters the ghost of his late business partner, who warns that three spirits will visit him this night. The ghosts take Scrooge on a journey through his past, present and future in the hope of transforming his bitterness.

While for some there is something disconcerting about the lifeless eyes of the otherwise life like characters, it certainly lends itself to large 3D cinemas, with rubber faced characters and grand sweeping movement.

A Christmas Carol traz Jim Carrey em múltiplos papéis, incluindo Ebenezer Scrooge e os três fantasmas. O destaque é a atuação vocal e de captura de movimentos, onde ele constrói um Scrooge intenso, sombrio e emocionalmente complexo. Em poucas palavras: visualmente impressionante, dramático e com um Carrey versátil, indo do assustador ao tocante dentro do mesmo filme.

Love this movie. The visuals are beautiful and the dark fantasy/christmas horror aesthetic is amazing. It’s magical but also haunting. The computer animation might be a bit outdated now, however, the imagery actually looks very accurate to the original book illustrations, which is why I like it so much.

Great movie by far i remembered, Many parts of the movie were unnecessarily terrifying, especially the corpse that appears at the very beginning of the movie. i wouldn't recommend watching until they are around 11 since the movie would probably be terrifying to young kids

Jim Carey's acting is amazing, the MoCap is not bad for 2009, the story focuses closely to the book by Charles Dickens and does an amazing job of introducing the story to newer audiences. (Even if Disney was too greedy on thier expectations for its box office.)
