Chalamet conveys all of the necessary contradictory emotions to portray an addict, paradoxically both in love with, and repulsed by, his own tendencies and actions. It's bravura work.

The critics are missing the point, "it felt as if it were missing something", "beautiful scenes that don’t work well together" is the point of the movie. The epitome of addiction. It’s messy, it doesn’t make sense and it hurts, and this movie encapsulates it beautifully. This is a harshly under rated movie, not once have I seen addiction portrayed so accurately and impactful. This shows both perspectives, the family’s and the addicts so well. This is a must watch.

Very well made film. Great actors and characters. Very close to reality. Extremely sad story. If you are looking for lift me up, heart warming, feel good film, this is not it. It left me with a heavy heart for several minutes after.
