Wonderfully acted by all players, heartwarming Christmas story, and rewarding to see a father holding his family together, especailly through the holidays
As a Vietnam Veteran, I truly enjoy watching this movie each Christmas. I purchased the DVD several years ago and watch it with my wife each Christmas. The Gulf War wasn't my war. But, the story line always captures my heart and attention. Some things never change when it comes to war, sacrifice and loss. The only inaccuracy might be Johnnie's military service medals and E-6 Sergeant rank after stateside training (prior to being deployed and in combat). But, most folks wouldn't notice that, which is fine. This is a great military service Christmas movie! But, most folks wouldn't notice that, and, that's fine!. This is a great military service Christmas movie!
This is a lovely film, a family loses their son in the Persian Gulf War, Due to this the family don't celebrate Christmas for 11 years, However a young man turns up the same age as their son, and changes everything,
This is a television film, but has a warm caring story about a family suffering with the past, whilst fighting to look to the future.
William Devane, Meredith Baxter, Reagan Pasternak gives outstanding performances, and it really is a very touching film, the flashbacks are a lovely added touch, giving the viewer a picture of their lives before tragedy struck.
One the best Christmas Movies
A heart warming movie, worth watching !
A surreal film about healing from the hurt of losing a loved one, with a miraculous twist.
A family hasn't celebrated Christmas since the death of their son/brother in Persian Gulf War. That is until, A Christmas Visitor, comes to remind them what the meaning of Christmas is.
This Hallmark christmas movie is great if you can get past mediocre filmmaking. The story is great. Nothing is a surprise, you know exactly where they are going with the story. You do feel for the family and all that's happened to them. I would say that this is a better story that tugs on your heart-strings rather than a great film to watch.
LOVE THIS MOVIE!!! It was sooooo good!!!!!!
I reckon EVERYONE should watch this!! It's a CRACKER wee movie. It's important to remember loss and other people's loss at Christmas as well as all the food, presents etc. I found this movie quite deep, but eye-opening as the family had lost their son/brother in the war. Touching, but poignant. I'd be tempted to buy it and just bring it out every Christmas (DV) to never forget our fallen heroes!!
Film 19 with 11 more to go before Christmas. This film should be seen by anyone who has lost a loved one around this time of the year. An excellent movie that tells the tale of a family who lost there son in Desert Storm and was give the news on Christmas Eve. Its been 10 long years since they celebrated Christmas, the father decides its time they stropped morning and had a Christmas, when a visitor shows up, who is he a Angel, his son???? This is one you don't want to miss just have the tissues ready. 5 Stars
