Teenage Rachel (Lindsay Lohan) is a real thorn in the side of her mother, Lilly (Felicity Huffman). More than just rebellious, she is incorrigible. After Rachel crashes a car, Lilly decides to haul the girl off to a place to which she vowed never to return: Her own mother's (Jane Fonda) Idaho home. Georgia, the family matriarch, lives by a strict code and expects all under her roof to do the same. Given structure and purpose, Rachel's anger at the world begins to subside.

It portrays accurately how someone that has dealt with abuse acts. As someone who had dealt with it first hand I should know. So why are the reviews on here so awful? I couldn't tell you. It never tried to be a comedy in any way shape or form. Instead it brought the heaviness it needed to the film while trying to be light so that we could understand how each of the main three girls came to be. If you don't understand why this is a great film then you didn't actually watch it. It really deserves better ratings and more people watching it. I 100% recommend it if you are looking for a movie that deals with life struggles and accurately depicts how people deal with those struggles.
