Obviously made during the height of the Cold War this drama is a tad highstrung but good acting puts it over. Any movie with Robert Ryan is worth checking out for him alone.

Unremarkable propaganda-minded B-movie. The cheesy communists as deadly organized crime group motif is mildly amusing, but not enough rise it above being anything but a predictable, mediocre potboiler. Some nice black and white photography by Nicholas Musuraca, though.

The Cold War is not over as long as the largest population on earth is Communist.

Simple story - yet well enacted to demonstrate political coercion & manipulation.
