04/07/2019 This "documentary" really offers nothing new in the department of religious exploration nor commentary. Except at the end where there is a little bit of depth. It feels like this film transports me to sunday-school in kindergarten. It has a very basic narrative that explores pretty much what everyone already knows since they were a child. This documentary only looks at the canonical New Testament as its source, which if this was a better film perhaps could be traditional faith film. However even if the benefit of the doubt is given this film does not ask the viewer deeper questions and basically gives the audience a very basic Christianity 101 crash course, with a little garnish on it. The "deconstruction" as well as an "untangling of the complex factors" promised for the most part was not delivered. It takes a lot of what it states as history for granted and claims many things are facts that for a better documentary may challenge.
