Michael Rechtshaffen Los Angeles Times 05/05/2016
With its twinkly piano and soul-stirring cinematography, "Love Thy Nature" feels like the visual equivalent of a hot oil spa massage - and leaves a residual effect that proves equally as fleeting. Go to Full Review
Frank Scheck The Hollywood Reporter 05/03/2016
For all the information presented, the film is insufficient on details, instead stressing the fairly obvious importance of such things as eating natural foods and getting fresh air. Go to Full Review
Neil Genzlinger New York Times 04/21/2016
Endless slow-motion footage of animals, plants and people rolls by. Hard realities, though, are nowhere to be found. Go to Full Review
Sherilyn Connelly SF Weekly 05/03/2016
The woo about Gaia and such makes even the occasional hard science sound suspect, and questionable statements like people going to parks after 9/11 as proof of the healing power of nature don't help. Go to Full Review
Jennie Kermode Eye for Film 05/03/2016

09/15/2021 No one's going to save the planet with big behavior changes just because we 'should' do it. We protect what we love.....that's the underlying theme. And if we experience the beauty and wonder of our planet, we will fight to preserve that beauty - which will be to our benefit. This isn't hard hitting. It's a gentle sell, and a respite from tough documentaries about how bad things are. Scientist Brian Swimme's insights into new powers of the planet, to self-regulate if given a chance, are valuable and hopeful. I saw this film festival and was haunted by it. Your worship or environmental group mightview it for discussion. It's a great movie for multi-generational viewing. See more ed l @ed65love 05/01/2020 What's wrong with critics? Do they think technique is more important than the message? Until we GET the message, and live it, we need more and more of these films again and again and again. Why nit pick while the planet burns? I don't get it. There won't be many more Oscar ceremonies if the planet dies. Is that so hard to see? See more 06/07/2017 Just when it seems the world has gone crazy, this film gave me hope! It's bold yet gentle, beautiful and insightful-really, a profoundly uplifting experience that lingers long after the credits. It will be really helpful for anyone feeling disconnected from nature or wondering if we impact our planet. I'm getting it for my friends, too. Five stars!
