This film is a biographical examination of former U.S. President Richard Nixon (Anthony Hopkins). The non-chronological narrative explores Nixon's personal and professional life, touching on his youth, college years, and political triumphs and failures. Nixon is seen as a child born to austere Quaker parents, as a young attorney wooing his future wife, Pat (Joan Allen), and as an astute but dour politician. After finally becoming president, Nixon is embroiled in the infamous Watergate scandal.

Nixon was not a very likable man and this re-enactment of his life is consistent with that. However, the film does provide insight as to how the late, former president attained his stature as well as how he lost it.

i very much liked nixon the top film 1995 where anthony hopkins plays the former president and joan allen as the first lady also great performances others exp,james woods,ed harris,powers boothe,david hyde pierce any others the only flaw this is larry hagman as someone who exists based on someone but overall very good film and top film of the year

Por mais longo que seja e que exija atenção constante do público para continuar, ainda assim esse filme consegue entregar um bom resultado. É uma produção requintada para os amantes da cinebiografia e aqui, Anthony Hopkins (Nixon) mostra mais uma vez o porquê de ser três vezes vencedor do Oscar.

Oliver Stone describes perfectly the rise and fall of a controversial figure like Nixon. Anthony Hopkins is perfect as always. Great acting, everything's good. Not a masterpiece, but very very good.
