IAM M @IAM1655 Jun 7 Sean Connery had retired the role as 007, but George Lazenby was very great in the movie. He and Diana Rigg carried this movie. The ending still gets me today. Lazenby shouldn't have gotten only one movie. Telly Savalas was brilliant as Blofeld, he was much better than Donald Pleasance. The love story is genuinely romantic and Blofeld's evil psychedelic hypnosis plan to distribute a virus via an international group of brainwashed young women is the kind of thing that I wish these movies did more of. Lazenby is a good James Bond actually, he has a kind of quiet melancholy that adds convincing depth to the character. Also the tragic ending is still surprising and heartbreaking.
