same deal over and over again
This is a decent, though not entirely flawless, dramatic thriller. Clint stars as a hard-nosed detective (does he play any other kind?) trying to figure out who's behind a string of murders in New Orleans. But these aren't just any murders, as the female victims were all part of the wonderful world of kinky sex. Our hero's mean squint gets even squintier when it becomes obvious the women are being targeted because of their kinky relations with him. It's reasonably paced, not entirely predictable and nicely buffered with some cute (sometimes hilarious) father-daughter moments (Clint's real-life offspring, Alison, plays one of his two girls). Decent watch.
A very exciting thriller... and still enjoyable to watch today. (the self defense part was a bit lol tho. Iiked this one. You can never go wrong with Clint Eastwood :)
Better than expected. Psychological food for thought...
An average thriller that is slow-paced at times. It wasn't bad and the New Orleans setting was unique, but definitely not one of Clint Eastwood's better films. (First and only viewing - 1/27/2019)
A vastly different Clint in this seamy, steamy movie! Perhaps that's why it doesn't have a much higher rating! People might feel uncomfortable seeing him as a kinky cop!
Tightrope (1984) ??? 1/2 / ????
One of Clint's most underrated films. Policeman and single father is brought into ugly side of New Orleans to hunt down a killer, an area he has never been to, or at least in uniform . . . Dank--very dank--but when a flawed hero wrestles with his conscience as much as with the killer it's impossible to resist such a concept. Credible all the way through and no cheap, routine resolutions or predictable outcomes; a truly mature, gripping, and intelligent thriller.
this movie is corny dated and goofy
i frickin love it
for mardi gras era
filled with dark cheesy humour
and eastwood corny clever lines
and hard boiled cop tropes
and good people
and its a relic that i dig
enjoy if ya like
An interesting thriller that entertains well, even if it won't be at the top of Eastwood's list
Predictable and too macho !
