this was really great movie! i might say the only one which i`ve seen where are gay/lesbian stuff, but in somehow not disgusting way. really nice movie!
While there were great performances by Najarra Townsend, Jake Abel, & Tye Olsen, altogether a bit of re-casting for the other parts and a re-write of the script could have made this a real contender ! As it is, it plays out like an after-school special for the 16-20 crowd.
Is it degrading for a straight woman to be a gay guy's "beard" or "Katie Holmes"? Why are people get so anti and uptight about who other people love?
Roger Ebert watched the first 8 minutes of this movie and hated the awkward beginning. Any Glee fan could watch the last 8 minutes of this movie and love Jane Lynch's Sue Sylvester character beginning to take shape 2 years before Glee hit the small screens. Between start and end, this movie's awesomely intriguing plotline fails to be convincingly acted. But don't give up on it like Ebert did - it's an enjoyable watch.
Low budget film with an awesome message!

This movie was alright. Technically speaking it was pretty bad - especially sound wise. There were actually moments where the sound suddenly got substantially quieter because it was an outdoor scene and then they would go indoors and it was really loud again, so that was frustrating. The story was average. It was easy to watch but not something that was overly enjoyable. Random comments that have nothing to do with the actual quality of the film: Najarra is very pretty, Matthe Thompson is such a cutie, Jake Abel is a sweetheart and I want to meet someone like his character. I have no idea why Jane Lynch was in this movie (well im actually pretty sure its just because she is gay) but honestly she had like 2 lines.
What did this movie teach me? Just because a guy dresses nicely and is a part of the gay-straight aliance, it doesnt mean hes gay.
A touchy history about a teenager raised by two gay daddies and two lesbian moms, trying to change a "high school world" with intolerance wity the gay cause.
This is a great independent film. It does lack fancy camera angels and great production like main stream movies, but the plot is fantastic. The young actors do a good job. This a great movie to see with your teenage kids which will lead to good talks afterwards.
A coming of age(and coming out) story told from a different perspective. Surprisingly well acted and full of cameos galore(yea Jane Lynch!).
