Aye G @AyeGeeYT 2d Unfortunately, I was pretty let down by Wrong Turn (2003). I was hoping it would sit alongside early-2000s horror like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake or the Friday the 13th remake, but it never comes close. At just over 80 minutes, it moves at a brisk pace and never overstays its welcome. The opening credits set an eerie tone, and the cast—Eliza Dushku and Desmond Harrington included—do their best with limited material. But that’s where the positives end. The tension never fully builds, the kills are forgettable, and the mutant antagonists lack any real screen presence, coming off more generic than terrifying. Despite its cult reputation, it feels like a very standard backwoods slasher with little to set it apart. It’s not terrible, just disappointingly average and instantly forgettable. The cast did a great job, and the film was both terrifying and entertaining. The story about psychopathic cannibals living in the forest keeps the suspense high from start to finish. The director created a memorable horror experience, and this movie remains one of my childhood favorites. But this first entry did have any of what I heard about it. Besides a couple dumb moments this movie is awesome. It has some great thrilling and awesome moments. I like these characters and it’s written fairly well. The story is interesting and very well paced. The special effects are great for a B-horror and I kinda love this movie now. And to make it even worse, the character "Carly" in this dumb flick, makes you wish she was chopped up and left for dead in the very beginning of the movie. It's horrible and a waste of time.
