It is a masterful depiction of courage, discipline, and the indomitable White spirit of 150 British soldiers facing overwhelming odds at Rorke’s Drift. The film brilliantly captures that unique Western fighting spirit: brave, determined, and utterly unbreakable even when surrounded by thousands. Yet, watching it today leaves a bittersweet aftertaste. Zulu doesn't just celebrate heroism, it unknowingly serves as a haunting reminder of how far one of the greatest European empires in history has fallen. What was once a display of civilizational confidence and martial excellence now feels like a glimpse into a vanished world. An absolute must-see masterpiece. The battle scenes are immersive and the acting flawless. A must watch for any war film nerd. This film might not be completely historically accurate, or perfect in every way (what film is?). But the film does have absolutely brilliant pacing, a wonderful cast, sublime cinematography and epic scale, not to mention an inspired, sweeping score by John Barry. The slow build only increases the tension and anticipation for a brilliantly exciting and breathtaking finale. See more Read all reviews
