Rating Title/Year Author
1.5/10 The Grudge (2020) Chris Sawin Bellow out one last sorrowful Death Rattle/Grudge-gurgle, this is the franchise flat lining without so much as a whimper. EDIT

4/5 1917 (2019) Chris Sawin While 1917 doesn't have a ton of layers in its storytelling or its characters, it's a film that certainly makes up for it with exquisite visuals and glorious music. EDIT

1.5/5 Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019) Chris Sawin The Rise of Skywalker captivates with its alluring special effects, but it is a finale that infuriates to the extent that you literally don't care anymore. Why settle for a saturated and uneven reboot of Return of the Jedi? EDIT

3.25/5 Jumanji: The Next Level (2019) Chris Sawin Jumanji: The Next Level is pure popcorn entertainment. It's silly and absurd at times, but it's also a family movie with action and adventure that is fun for everyone. If you can stomach old man humor, the action is a big payoff. EDIT

1.5/5 Frozen II (2019) Chris Sawin A few new characters, a new dress, and a reindeer sing-a-long aren't worth a 103 minute strained serenade of monotonous fluff. EDIT

1.5/5 The Irishman (2019) Chris Sawin The Irishman comes off as this longwinded geriatric fart with a smell that lingers in a room with no windows that you're trapped in for three and a half hours. All the mob hits in the world aren't going to get that smell out. EDIT

4/5 Doctor Sleep (2019) Chris Sawin Doctor Sleep is a one-of-a-kind sequel that is so good it makes the original film better. It may be slow-moving, but its meticulous storytelling flourishes because of it. EDIT

4/5 Terminator: Dark Fate (2019) Chris Sawin Dark Fate finally gives Terminator the facelift it's so desperately needed the past 28 years. EDIT

4.5/5 Parasite (2019) Chris Sawin Parasite is deliciously mischievous and a masterwork of pure and utter deceit with a mesmerizing conclusion that leaves you breathless and reflective. EDIT

3.5/5 Zombieland: Double Tap (2019) Chris Sawin Double Tap isn't nearly as good as the original film, but it's not a sequel that's attempting to outdo its roots. It's a quick-witted expansion with more blood, more character development, and more sentimentality. EDIT
