Tv Season Info

Season 2 of the animated misadventures of CIA operative Stan Smith and his family kicks off with Stan bound and determined to ship son Steve off to summer camp, but the only one he can get him into at the last moment is a refugee camp in Africa. Other topflight outings for the season find the Smiths welcoming a special dinner guest, President George W. Bush (voice of Dee Bradley Baker), who drops in after Stan's essay saluting the Commander in Chief earned him the honor. Not surprisingly, Hayley doesn't think it's so great, but Roger goes out of his way to make W. feel comfortable. Also, Steve becomes embroiled in a murderous conspiracy involving George Washington Carver while researching a Black History Month school paper on the historic figure.

While MacFarlane and company are always looking to make statements about the world we live in -- sometimes hitting taboo subject matter in the process -- the characters tend to get short shrift and are at best watchable but at worst unpleasant.

Audience Reviews for American Dad!: Season 2

  • Jul 25, 2019
While not as good as Season 1, American Dad! has enough hard hitting jokes to go along with its social commentary and great voice acting for it to still have that Seth Macfarlane spirit without feeling like a PG-13 friendly version of a cutaway-free Family Guy.

    Slight improvement over season 1.
  • Feb 09, 2017
Full of smart commentary and the further developed versions of its likable characters, the second season of American Dad is riddled with humor that can be appreciated by any demographic young or old.
