Diners are a staple of American life, located in communities -- small and large -- across the country. Like many other types of restaurants, a number of diners -- many of which have been open for decades -- are struggling to survive in the competitive culinary climate. In each episode of this series, an eatery's local community comes together to help save the floundering business. Leading each revitalization effort are designer Ty Pennington and chef-restaurateur Amanda Freitag, who make over the decor and menu. "American Diner Revival" makes stops in Michigan, New York and Virginia on the way to rejuvenating the classic diner concept.
