NYPD Detective Jim Dunbar, blinded in an on-the-job incident, refuses to let his lack of sight end his career and goes back to work despite his disability. His other senses help compensate for his lack of sight, but his fellow cops are leery of working with a man who won't be able to see the bad guys coming.

Critics Consensus

It doesn't take 20/20 vision to see the disappointments of Blind Justice's baffling premise and routine storytelling.

At least they tried for something slightly different - a blind detective. Too bad the rest of the show is a by-the-book chunk o' cliches. Go to Full Review

Ron Eldard is so interesting as Det. Jim Dunbar... that incredulity is not a major distraction. The weekly story lines, with a crime usually solved in each episode, complete a very satisfying package. Go to Full Review

The problem with "Blind Justice" is not that Dunbar is blind, but that he is not quite blind enough. Go to Full Review

If you get past the dubious premise, "Blind Justice" has some key ingredients of "NYPD Blue" -- a strong lead character, Jim Dunbar, with Detective Andy Sipowicz's police instincts, and some compelling cases. Go to Full Review

The writing is compelling, as would be expected from a Steven Bochco series. The characters are appropriately endearing or loathsome and the performances are uniformly excellent. Go to Full Review
