counterpart is a great tv series. this brings tv to the next level. The only part of this tv series is bad is the first five minutes. this movie is great acting from Harry Lloyd. I think him being young really fits. when Peter Quayle (who he was acting) talks to Howard silk in the tunnel scene witch is very early in the season. that scene sucky you in completely. I am not going to tell you the dialogue butt like said before It really sucks you in. they use this same tunnel a lot to cross over to the other world. It was all so a really good performance from j.k Simmons. you will find this movie reminds you of customs in air ports. counter part is one of these movies were you can only half follow along but still know the plot. I think the pandemic part of it is very coincidental. over all this is a great first season and I will comment on season 2 when I have finished that.

I just wanted both the JKs in one reality and for them to be with their wives and work everything out together. I didn't get everything that I wanted, but by the end of the second season, I still felt satisfied. I would totally watch a third season, but where would we go? Everything's top notch, ESPECIALLY in season 1, it's still a fun spy show with fantastic emotional acting, thrilling action/suspense, and unpredictable (albeit frustrating because I'm so attached to the characters) story. Go watch it before this is all we get. There's a reason there's 100% on all seasons from critics.

Excellent drama with a sci fi plot but plays out like a intense, slow burn thriller. Starts a little slow but you will be hooked before the end of the second episode. It's nice to have a fresh idea instead of the usual copy and change a few things in most new television shows.

Led by a magnificent dual performance from J.K. Simmons, Counterpart presents many interesting things in its premise filled with compelling characters and powerful storytelling that opts for substantive character arcs over action sequences, and it works wonders.

This is a classic cold war spy film set in an alternative reality. All the parts are there: spies, an equivalent of check point charlie, embassies, double agents, a spy school, the whole lot. It works well. Like all cold war spy films, it takes place in Berlin. The two halves of Germany are represented here as two versions of reality. Basically the same but developing differently. In short a very familiar genre. Yeah, it works well.

This fresh IP felt like a "try hard" attempt to get in to the big league TV series (of Game of Thrones, Mr. Robot etc.) to fast and this made it a little dull. But the series it's rather good, entertaining and interesting to watch. The plot was intriguing, but it picked up to late in to the season due to it's mysterious nature and the sheer seriousness of the events. The actors where amazing, and J.K. Simmons is the perfect actor to play this two sided role that is the different in so many ways yet similar. The directing was great with all the amazingly shot scenes and the editing choices. The script was short worded but still managed to give the audience enough to think about and to keep it very complex and keep the viewer's tension up and going, in order to figure out more about this interesting double world and about the characters. It was truly executed in a really good way with all it's details and elements. The characters had enough screen time to develop their core connection with the plot and the audience at the same time. The visuals where really good and practically shot most of it. The sound effects where realistic, and the music helped but very little because the background song not always matched the mood of the scene, and when it would have been great that it just wasn't there. Sadly this TV series has real artistic value and entertainment value, but due to it's huge pacing issue and immersion breaking nonsense conversations it faults. So overall this original concept of this fractured worlds is amazing and interesting, but the season could have been more polished, because of this I would say this is a very good TV series so far but it can be better. So I am curious what they have in store for the viewers the next season and if they actually pull it of and make it better than this one, so it can live up to it's fullest potential.

Increible series with great story lines and a bevy of incredible actors. Cannot believe Starz will drop the show after two seasons.
