The production is surprisingly clichéd, as it happens, but still a highly watchable sort of detective drama, frankly because it gives the viewers what we want. Go to Full Review

Fig M @fig-mint Jul 14 So bad almost unwatchable. Not a hint of normalcy or reality in the series. Absolutely absurd. See more Magnus A 10/06/2024 Some poor dialogue - very iffy accents - 'large' acting - good if very derivative characters and story. The accents run from real to caricature. (I'm a Scot so I have a fair idea of the accents - I have one!) The minor characters are either ludicrous tropes or forgettably one-dimensional. The main characters are ok, more detailed, though Dougray tends to over-act so his character end up a little one pitch - angsty, haunted, ptsd, drugged or drunk. Most of the police are cartoon characters (wtf is Ken Stott doing? The French cop with the Hello Hello style French Accent? really?) or at least the male cops are cartoonish, boorish, misogynist, etc - women cops are attractive, ambitious, self-righteous, prickly and priggish. Oddly this messy mishmash has pace and has kept me watching. Oh and John Simm arrives in the 4th episode - class actor playing a less likeable Hannibal Lechter - good actor, he should get more 'evil' characters. I think this is meant to be funnier than it is. Most of the comic turns fall flat. If this had been made in the US I doubt a second series would have been commissioned. See more Sarah W 07/27/2024 I enjoyed this crime series. Gave it a lower rating though because of how emotionally unstable Ray Lennox was. All that crying really annoyed me towards the end. See more Andrei D 01/17/2024 Scott is determined to deliver See more CT 8 @ct8787 12/09/2023 Season one was barely tolerable. A few hints of whoa oak ness , but a decent storyline. But lead character DI Lennox (Dougray Scott) is an unhinged druggie/alcoholic and the idea that this guy is capable of leading a serial killer investigation is beyond ridiculous. Further compounded by the fact Scott's acting is so over the top it's laughable. See more Paul D @LVHothead 11/24/2023 Very good police procedural. Ray Lennox is a great character. Ken Stott is hilarious as the dyspeptic boss. See more Read all reviews
