There aren't many missteps in Dark. The super slo-motion anguished screams of Ulrich look as if they were copy-and-pasted from a daytime soap, but everything else is tuned into the show's dense and foreboding frequency.

I definitely don't understand it, but I guess I'll eventually keep pursuing the answers, stumbling through the dark with interest but no real affection.

Even if some of the "You may like this..." seams still show in the making of Dark, its biggest selling point is as a story about a community haunted by something it refuses to talk about.
