Self-taught cook Ching-He Huang, who has hosted other TV cooking shows and written cookbooks in the past, aims to show viewers how to prepare mouth-watering Chinese dishes using fresh, readily available ingredients. There's no need for Chinese takeout when you have Huang available to illustrate how to make a quick, healthy meal, using ingredients most people already have in their kitchens. She visits local markets, farms and suppliers in San Francisco and the Bay Area to acquire the best ingredients, which she then cooks at the peak of their freshness. The bottom line for Huang is to prove that Chinese cuisine can be simple, healthy and delicious.
