Two hopelessly inept 20-something slackers hop into their rickety Chevrolet and take an endlessly disastrous - and comedic - road trip across the U.S. in this clay animation-style series.

After all the irreverent stabs at humor, the show has the audacity to turn mushy. The misadventures of Gary and Mike should end quickly. Go to Full Review

The voices are key, and Moynihan and Williams are a natural fit for this bumbling duo. Go to Full Review

The series aims at fans of sophomoric humor and hits its target infrequently. Go to Full Review
Tom Jicha South Florida Sun-Sentinel 12/31/2019
There are half-hearted attempts at caustic social commentary, but they are either so ham-fisted as to squander their humor or sufficiently subtle to fly past the target audience. Go to Full Review
Rob Owen Pittsburgh Post-Gazette 12/31/2019
Tonight's premiere isn't all that funny, but the coming "D.C." episode does an admirable job of satirizing politicians and the media while developing Gary's character. Go to Full Review

AceFlesh 03/01/2025 Gary and Mike is a hidden gem in UPN and Comedy Central early cartoon line up. Though it has its flaws (Corndog episode) it seamlessly weaves serialisation into what would be an episodic show. The character Gary though seemingly the ‘brains’ and the ‘nerd’ of the duo is shown to be not as smart as he seems, for example the moments where he falls for a cult, the marriage at the rock show and the prostitute. Whilst Mike is portrayed as the ‘sex driven’ ‘dumb’ half of the duo you find that he sacrifices for Gary on multiple occasions and guides Gary through his new journey despite the Clarkson trail he was meant to go on. All in all, the show has well structured jokes and great reoccurring gags. The animation itself goes far beyond what you would expect for an adult animated comedy and shows great character growth that doesn’t stagnate through to the shows end.
